All about Gut Care

Recommended for animals with gastritis or delayed gastric emptying, enteritis, colitis, dysbiosis, food intolerance, autoimmune or immune-mediated inflammatory bowel disease (leishmaniasis or hemoparasites, FIV, FeLV, Coronavirus).

It supports the intestinal mucosa, modulates digestive inflammation, and contributes to the rebalancing of the fundamental microbiome because the gut regulates up to 70-80% of your pet's systemic immunity.

✓ Protects and repairs the intestinal mucosa

✓ Modulates digestive inflammation at its source

✓ Rebalances the microbiome

  • Acute or chronic gastritis, enteritis, and gastroenteritis in dogs and cats
  • Haemorrhagic gastroenteritis with blood diarrhoea
  • Lymphoplasmacytic colitis and persistent intestinal inflammation
  • Intestinal dysbiosis and SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth)
  • Food allergy or intolerance with digestive manifestations
  • Gastric hypomotility and chronic indigestion
  • Recurrent diarrhoea in dogs or cats with or without an identified infectious cause
  • Systemic inflammation of intestinal origin, including atopic protocols
  • Animals with eosinophilic or lymphoplasmacytic gastritis, enteritis and colitis and other types of inflammatory bowel disease due to cellular infiltrate

Pillar 1: Integrity and repair of the intestinal mucosa
Glutamine, Glycine, and Arginine are essential amino acids for the metabolism of enterocytes, the cells lining the intestine. Egg Shell Membrane contributes collagen and glycosaminoglycans that strengthen the epithelial barrier. When the mucosa is compromised, inflammatory agents enter the bloodstream and dysregulate the immune system. Gut Care works to repair this barrier.

Pillar 2: Modulation of digestive inflammation
Boswellia serrata inhibits leukotrienes, central mediators of chronic intestinal inflammation. The Turmeric Complex and Tangerine Peel Flavonoids have synergistic antioxidant and anti-inflammatory action. Radix paeonia lactiflorae, used in integrative veterinary medicine, supports immune regulation in the mucosa. This is not symptom sedation: it is active modulation of the inflammatory process.

Pillar 3: Microbiome balance and enzymatic support
Lipase, Cellulase, Amylase, and Protease ensure efficient digestion of fats, fibers, carbohydrates, and proteins, reducing the substrate available for pathogenic bacterial fermentation. An intestine that digests well is an intestine that inflames less.

  • Stool progressively more consistent, with resolution of liquid diarrhea episodes
  • Decreased frequency of post-meal vomiting and nausea
  • Recovery of appetite and increased interest in food
  • Fewer signs of abdominal discomfort: belching, borborygmi, hunched posture, reluctance to be touched
  • Improved energy and general behavior, reflecting improved systemic immunity
  • In cases of bloody diarrhea or hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, progressive reduction of mucosal irritation and support for regeneration
  • Improved intestinal transit in animals with gastric or intestinal hypomotility
  • Progressive reduction of small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) with improvement in dysbiosis symptoms
  • Improved intestinal inflammation in cases of eosinophilic or lymphoplasmacytic gastritis, enteritis, and colitis.

Comparison of our anti-inflammatory supplements for dogs and cats

  • Gut Care: focus on digestive inflammation and intestinal mucosal repair. The basic choice in protocols for gastritis, gastroenteritis, and inflammatory bowel disease of autoimmune, immune-mediated, and chronic processes.
  • Atopicare Triade: indicated for chronic systemic inflammation and atopy of immune/autoimmune cause. Acts on the skin-lung-gut axis;
  • Respiratory & Skincare: acts on the respiratory and cutaneous axis, which, when imbalanced, is responsible for environmental allergies. Indicated for conjunctivitis, rhinitis and dry dermatitis, hair loss, itching, particularly facial.
  • Digestive & Skincare: acts on the gut-skin axis. Manifestations of this axis imbalance include recurrent ear infections, interdigital dermatitis and pododermatitis with intense itching, wet dermatitis (hot spot), and changes in stool consistency.

Gut Care supports the foundation of a functioning gut and a responsive immune system.

Dosage:Administer daily with the main meal to maximise the absorption of active ingredients and ensure consistency in supplementation.

Method of administration:Can be administered directly with wet or dry food, once a day.

Minimum recommended duration:In acute situations of canine gastritis or gastroenteritis, a minimum duration of 4 to 6 weeks is recommended. In contexts of chronic inflammation, dysbiosis, or inflammatory bowel disease, continuous use is most indicated.

Dosage by body weight:

  • Up to 10 kg: ½ tablet per day
  • Between 10 and 25 kg: 1 tablet per day
  • Between 25 and 50 kg: 2 tablets per day
  • Above 50 kg: 3 tablets per day

Doses may be adjusted after the first two weeks of administration.

Storage:Store in a dry place, in the original packaging, at a temperature below 25ºC. Protect from direct sunlight and heat.

Warning:Keep out of reach of children. Does not replace veterinary care when indicated.

- Lipase 250 mg: enzyme responsible for fat digestion; its deficiency is associated with fatty stools and malabsorption of fat-soluble nutrients

- Egg Shell Membrane 200 mg: eggshell membrane rich in type I, III and V collagen, glycosaminoglycans, and chondroitin; contributes to the integrity and repair of the intestinal mucosa

- Glycine 120 mg: conditionally essential amino acid with a central role in enterocyte metabolism and intestinal wall collagen synthesis

- Arginine 100 mg: amino acid with immunoregulatory functions and support for intestinal microcirculation; relevant in inflammatory contexts and mucosal recovery

- Boswellia serrata 100 mg: extract with proven anti-inflammatory action by inhibiting 5-lipoxygenase, an enzyme that produces pro-inflammatory leukotrienes; indicated for gastritis, colitis, and inflammatory bowel disease

- Glutamine 100 mg: main fuel for enterocytes; essential for the regeneration of the intestinal mucosa in contexts of inflammation or epithelial injury

- Cellulase 80 U: digestive enzyme that facilitates the degradation of plant fibers, reducing excessive intestinal fermentation associated with dysbiosis

- Tangerine peel flavonoids 50 mg: polyphenolic compounds with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity; act synergistically with turmeric in modulating the intestinal inflammatory response

- Radix paeonia lactiflorae 50 mg: peony root used in integrative veterinary medicine for its immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory action at the level of the digestive mucosa

- Turmeric complex 6 mg: curcuminoids with high anti-inflammatory and antioxidant action, particularly effective in chronic inflammatory processes of the digestive tract

- Amylase 2.5 DU: enzyme that degrades complex carbohydrates, facilitating digestion and reducing the substrate available for pathogenic bacterial proliferation

- Protease 22 HUT: enzyme responsible for protein digestion; its presence is essential in animals with gastric hypomotility or protein malabsorption

How does Gut Care work

Dr. Someia explains how this product works and how it affects your pet. If you are unsure whether this is the ideal supplement, you can ask SofIA and receive a complete strategy tailored to your pet's symptoms.

Symptom

When the gut gets inflamed, the whole body suffers

The gut is not merely the organ of digestion. It is the regulatory centre of the immune system: 70 to 80% of an animal's systemic immunity is determined by the state of the intestinal mucosa and the microbiome inhabiting it. When the gut becomes inflamed, whether due to gastritis, enteritis, colitis, or dysbiosis, the entire immune response is affected.

This is why problems seemingly not directly related to digestion in animals showing no obvious signs of inflammation in the organ, such as skin allergies, recurrent infections, or chronic fatigue, often have an intestinal origin. Gut Care addresses this root cause: it protects and repairs the mucosa, modulates inflammation with compounds like Boswellia serrata and the turmeric complex, and ensures efficient digestion with a specific enzymatic complex. It is not just a supplement that temporarily relieves symptoms. It is a clinical foundation for restoring digestive balance.

In the Toula strategy, Gut Care is the entry point for protocols addressing systemic inflammation of intestinal origin. It can be used in conjunction with other Toula supplements to strengthen the intestinal and immune ecosystem, sometimes before dermatological strategies in cases of atopy, or as a basis in contexts of chronic inflammation where the gut is the primary affected organ.

Frequently Asked Questions about Gut Care

Yes. Gut Care was formulated for long-term use, especially in animals with chronic gastritis, inflammatory bowel disease, or recurrent dysbiosis. The active ingredients, including Glutamine, Boswellia serrata, and the enzyme complex, are safe for continuous administration. In chronic contexts, long-term use is precisely what allows the intestinal mucosa to recover and the microbiome to stabilise.

Yes. Gut Care can be combined with other Toula supplements when it makes sense to support the gut axis more completely. Its action is focused on the intestinal lining and the modulation of digestive inflammation, and it can complement formulas aimed at the microbiome, digestion, or immunity, such as Complete Digest, Nutrimax, Muscle Boost, CBD products, and even the Degenerative range.

It depends on the cause and chronicity of the problem. In acute situations, such as a gastroenteritis episode or food-borne diarrhoea, an improvement in stool consistency can be observed in 1 to 2 weeks. In chronic contexts, such as inflammatory bowel disease in cats or established dysbiosis, the process of mucosal repair and microbiome rebalancing is more gradual. Gut Care should be used for at least 4 to 6 weeks for results to be thoroughly evaluated. Patience here is not resignation: it's the time the gut needs to repair itself.
